11, boulevard Mgr Dudemaine, Amos
"Six months earlier I was saying mass in a private home. Today I had expanded our temple. At this rate what would I be building in a few years? The way things were progressing it would have to be something huge. I admit that I was scared. However the province had always helped me and I should not back down. Then the words of the bishop came back to me: “It is a diocese that I’ve sent you to prepare.” And I saw my duty more clearly. One day I will build a cathedral."
This excerpt comes from the memoires of J.O.V. Dudemaine in 1914. Since 1922 the Amos Cathedral is the pride of downtown Amos and its citizens.
